Concealing a perfect 10 megapixel CMOS sensor, the compact, lightweight Canon EOS 400D is an attractive animal. It’s a semi-professional, highly affordable digital SLR camera with a larger, brighter LCD screen and Canon’s new EOS Integrated Cleaning System (ICS).
The EOS 400D’s quality 10.1 megapixel sensor combines with the high performance DIGIC II processor for super-sensitive low light performance, virtually noise free. The ICS works to keep the EOS sensor consistently spotless. It uses a combination of technologies to reduce, repel and remove dust.
The 2.5 inch LCD screen is nearly twice the size of that on the EOS 350D and now displays all of key shooting and user interface information, along with image playback. The 160° viewing angle also makes for easy at-a-glance checking and sharing.
Make the world your playground with the ‘Picture Styles’ preset shooting conditions, allowing individual adjustment of sharpness, contrast, colour tone and saturation. Switching between presets is like being able to change film mid-roll to achieve different colour response and Black & White effects.
The EOS 400D is also fast and power efficient, allowing you to shoot at 3 fps for continuous bursts of up to 27 large JPEG images (10 RAW) - like shooting a whole roll of film in a single burst. Enjoy total digital freedom with access to over 60 EF lenses, including the wide angle EF-S range. High precision, 9-point wide-area auto focus points provides fast, accurate focusing, even with off-centre subjects.
There’s also a comprehensive software suite included with the EOS 400D. Digital Photo Professional is a powerful RAW converter that provides complete RAW image processing control. There’s also EOS Capture, Image/Zoom Browser and Photostitch, plus 100MB of personal online space on CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, Canon’s online photo sharing service
